Gaida Cup 2026: Four Exciting Matches Conclude Day 1 

CHITWAN:- The first-ever Gaida Cup 2026 organized by Chitwan Rhinos kicked off on September 30 with four exciting matches, showcasing exciting performances by teams and players on the opening day.

In the first match, Eastern Cricket Academy (ECA) beat Kathmandu Cricket Academy (KCA) by 29 runs as ECA posted a total of 111 while KCA could manage only 82/9 in reply. Roshan Jha of ECA was adjudged as Player of the Match for his 32-run contribution.

In the second match, Eastern Cricket Academy A (ECA-A) registered a 9-run win over Great Himalayan Cricket Academy, Santinagar (GHCA). ECA-A reached a total of 78/8 while the chasing team GHCA scored only 69/7. Nischal KC of GHCA was announced as Player of the Match for his all-round contribution of 16 runs and 4 wickets.

In the third match, Bhaktapur Cricket Club (BCC) registered a 6-wicket win against CEC Bhaktapur. The home team CEC Bhaktapur were bowled for 41 in 9.2 overs while BCC reached 42/4 in 5.3 overs. Omkar Panta of BCC was announced as Player of the Match for 3 wickets taken in 2 overs.

In the final match of Day 1, Chitwan Training Center (CTC) registered an 8-wicket win over CEC Baluwatar. In their 10 overs of batting, CEC Baluwatar posted 76/8 while CTC chased down the target successfully, posting 80/2 in 8 overs. Abhay Yadav of CTC was announced as Player of the Match for his splendid 3 wickets for 7 runs in 2 overs.

With four matches played on the opening day, the Gaida Cup 2026 is set for Day 2 with four more matches on October 1.
