Water level rising in Marsyangdi River, urges people to adopt high alertness
KATHMANDU:- According to the Flood Forecasting Section of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the water level in the Marsyangdi River in Lamjung has crossed the alert level at the Bhakundebesi gauging station.
As the water level has exceeded the alert mark and continues to rise, residents in the river’s downstream areas are urged to maintain a state of high alert throughout the morning.
According to the Weather Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, there is a possibility of heavy rain at one or two places in the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces on Thursday night.
Generally cloudy conditions will prevail across the country on Friday and Saturday. During these two days, there is a possibility of heavy rain at one or two places in the mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces; the hilly regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces; and the hilly and Terai regions of Sudurpaschim Province.
Similarly, the department has stated that there is a possibility of moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning, as well as snowfall, in some places across the country’s mountainous and hilly regions.
