Posting a donation receipt on social media is not arrogance; it is an inspiration: Actress Sharma

KATHMANDU:- Actress Richa Sharma has stated that publicly sharing details or receipts of disaster relief contributions on social media is a positive step. In a social media post on Friday, she described this practice as a means of fostering transparency and inspiration.

Actress Sharma has defended the recent trend of sharing screenshots or receipts of charitable contributions on social media, arguing that there is no need to hesitate in publicizing donations made from one’s hard-earned money during times of crisis.

“There is no harm in showing that you have contributed the hard-earned money you spent a lifetime earning to the state during a time of crisis; take pride in it,” Sharma wrote. “Posting about it on social media isn’t arrogance—it’s about inspiring others. This is what transparency and inspiration are all about.”

She believes that in a society where people repeatedly post photos after buying a new outfit, there is no need to hide the assistance provided when the country and its citizens are in crisis. She adds, “A single post of yours can compel others to provide relief to a hundred people. A single receipt of yours will encourage hundreds of other hands to step forward and help.”
