Dr. Anand Paudel elected president for American Society of Nepalese Engineers

COLORADO:- Dr. Ananda Paudel has been elected President of the American Society of Nepalese Engineers (ASNEngr). A virtual meeting of the organization formed a 37-member board under his leadership for the 2026–2028 term.

The newly formed 37-member board aims to enhance professional collaboration, knowledge exchange, research, and technical development among Nepali engineers and technical professionals based in the United States. The board, led by Dr. Paudel, comprises professionals of Nepali origin with experience across various sectors, including education, technology, research, engineering, and industry.

The newly formed executive committee includes Ranjan Pokharel as Vice-President, Pratibha Phuyal as General Secretary, Amit Neupane as Joint Secretary, Utsav Pokharel as Treasurer, and Roshan Bhattarai as Information Secretary. Additionally, Immediate Past President Mangal Maharjan will serve on the committee as the Ex-Officio President. The members are Samir Rawal, Tikajit Rai, Suroj Lamichhane, Nitesh Panta, and Rabin Dhakal.

The participation of engineers, scientists, professors, researchers, and technical experts working at various prestigious American institutions and companies in the executive committee is expected to further strengthen the organization’s professional capabilities.

The new ASNEngr board comprises experts from various states across the U.S. who work in diverse fields of engineering and technology. The board members include Abdul Ansari, Bijaya Paudyal, Bikas Adhikari, Bishal Khadka, Dipendra Pokharel, Jagadish Raut, Jitendra Khatri, Jitendra Shah, Kishor Shrestha, Manoj Baniya, Narayan Baral, Nava Paneru, Nirajan Mani, Rabin Bhattarai, Rajendra Shrestha, Rajesh Bhatta, Rajesh Kafle, Raju Joshi, Ripendra Awal, Sajag Paudyal, Shubha Adhikari, Siddharaj Joshi, Sudip Sapkota, Sushil KC, and Thakur Dhakal.

Many of them hold key positions at American universities, government agencies, research institutions, and world-class technology and engineering companies.

The new leadership has stated that, alongside fostering the professional development of engineers and technical professionals of Nepali origin, it will provide the younger generation with the necessary guidance, mentorship, and networking opportunities to advance in the fields of engineering and technology.

ASNEngr aims to institutionalize the exchange of knowledge, skills, and technology while further strengthening the technical and educational ties between the United States and Nepal. Priority will be given to educational programs, professional networking, research, and technical collaboration through a multidisciplinary leadership team.

The organization’s 19th annual conference is scheduled to be held in Houston, Texas, on November 21, 2026. Discussions at the conference are expected to cover topics such as engineering, technology, research, professional development, and contemporary issues relevant to the Nepali technical community.

Additionally, a webinar titled “Empowering Our Youth: Join the ASNEngr & NYA College Readiness” is scheduled for August 23, 2026. This event aims to support young people in preparing for higher education and building their professional futures.

The organization has announced plans to continue publishing policy papers on topics such as flood control and earthquake preparedness, as well as initiatives to disseminate research and technical knowledge to the community.

ASNEngr is expanding its activities through various local chapters to connect Nepali engineers and technical professionals across different states. Currently, professional and community-oriented activities are being conducted through chapters including Greater Baltimore, Carolinas, Greater Chicago, Greater Houston, Greater New York, and Greater Washington DC.

The new 37-member board is expected to play a pivotal role in further strengthening the professional identity of Nepali engineers in the U.S. and expanding collaboration between Nepal and the U.S. in the fields of engineering, science, and technology.

The organization has expressed confidence that, under this new leadership, it will accelerate efforts to unite the community of engineers and technical professionals of Nepali origin, while prioritizing professional excellence, mentorship, networking, and knowledge transfer.
