Players in closed training for the Asian Games at Royal and Pashupati Boutiques
KATHMANDU:- Athletes and coaches participating in the closed-camp training for the upcoming 20th Asian Games have been accommodated at Royal Boutique in Sinamangal and Pashupati Boutique in Gaushala.
Sikka Suwal Shrestha, an executive committee member of the National Sports Council, stated that the closed-camp training began on August 3.
Athletes and coaches from Judo, Wushu, women’s volleyball, boxing, the Karate Kata team, dance sports, cycling, golf, athletics, and archery have been housed at Royal Boutique.
Arrangements have been made at Pashupati for the Karate (Kumite), Taekwondo, Soft Tennis, Tennis, Swimming, Squash, Badminton, and Table Tennis teams.
Among these 15 sports, some athletes from Wushu, Cycling, Golf, Taekwondo, Tennis, Swimming, and Table Tennis are currently undergoing training abroad. Similarly, all athletes representing Skateboard, Wrestling, Canoeing, and Men’s/Women’s Kabaddi are undergoing training abroad.
The Asian Games are set to begin in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, on September 19. A total of 136 athletes from Nepal—comprising 80 men and 56 women—will participate across 22 different sports.
