SUNSARI:- The Ministry of Home Affairs has endorsed the claim made by the District Police Office, Sunsari, that the situation following the incident in Dewanganj, Sunsari, is returning to normal.
One person died during treatment after being shot while authorities were attempting to bring a clash between two local groups under control.
Assistant Chief District Officer Poshan Lamichhane informed that 15 security personnel and 11 locals were injured in the incident. A curfew was imposed in areas such as Dewanganj, Harinagara, Kaptan-ganj, Laukahi, and Inaruwa following incidents of vandalism and arson.
Chandra Khadka, spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) at the District Police Office, Sunsari, informed that the situation at the scene is currently under control.
