Anti-government protest in Siraha demanding resignation of PM Shah

SIRHAHA:- Protests have been held in Siraha against the incident in which 24-year-old Omprakash Mehta died after being shot by police in Kaptanganj, Dewanganj Rural Municipality-3, Sunsari.

The protesters have demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Balendra Shah and Home Minister Sudhan Gurung.

On Tuesday, locals blocked the East-West Highway at Purano Chowk in Choharwa (Golbazar Municipality-8, Siraha) to demand an impartial investigation. The protesters called for legal action against those involved in the incident, an end to police repression, and justice.

Prior to this, protest demonstrations had also taken place on Monday at Bandipur in Karjanha Municipality, Golpark in Golbazar, and Kasaha Chowk in Dhangadhimai Municipality-8, Siraha.
