‘Azadi Mahotsav’ event at the ‘Long Island Marriott’ will further unite Indian-Americans

NEW YROK:- Indian Consul General Binay Pradhan has commended the efforts to unite the Indian-American diaspora and strengthen relations between the United States and India. He called upon the community to work collectively, guided by shared democratic values ​​and a spirit of public service.

Dr. Raj Bhayani, Founder and Trustee of NAIO, took the stage to shed light on the alliance’s primary objective, emphasizing the need to unite social, cultural, professional, business, and religious groups across the country to create a strong and collaborative voice for the community.

Dr. Raj Bhayani stated, “NAIO is committed to building a stronger, more influential, and collaborative community by uniting Indian-Americans affiliated with social, cultural, professional, business, and religious organizations.”

Noting that NAIO is currently in its formative stage, Chintu Patel urged community members to participate actively in order to build a strong foundation for future generations.

Emphasizing the vital role of political awareness and civic engagement, Harry Singh Bolla called for greater participation in the democratic process to establish a lasting impact for the community.

Naveen Shah presented the organizational structure and strategic action plan for establishing the inclusive national network, NAIO.

Kenny Desai provided detailed information about a nationwide campaign in which the leadership would visit various states across the country to bring local organizations into the fold of this alliance.

Ahead of the main event, the ‘National Alliance of Indian Organizations’ (NAIO), in collaboration with the Consulate General of India in New York, organized a special ‘curtain-raiser’ (pre-event) and press conference last Friday.

A large number of community representatives, businesspeople, leaders of Indian-American organizations, and major media outlets attended this event held at the Consulate General of India.

Dr. Navin Mehta, Dr. Deepak Nandi, H. R. Shah, Dr. Datta Nuri, and Gary Sikka also spoke, highlighting the importance of unity. The program featured a patriotic performance set to the song “Jai Ho,” a video presentation by H. R. Shah outlining future initiatives, and an interactive Q&A session between media personnel and the NAIO leadership.

Additionally, a special promotional video was released, offering a glimpse of the official ‘Azadi Ka Mahotsav’ ceremony scheduled to take place on August 15, 2026, at the ‘Long Island Marriott’ in Uniondale, New York.

This event received extensive coverage from prominent Indian-American media networks and personalities, including Sunil Hali (Radio Zindagi and The Indian Eye), Harish Goyal (Zee TV), Jas Punjabi, Jay Singh, representatives from TV Asia, and members of various digital, print, and broadcast media outlets.

The event concluded formally with a vote of thanks by Shashi Malik, a group photo session coordinated by Rita Batheja, and a networking dinner. The NAIO leadership expressed heartfelt gratitude to Consul General Binay Pradhan, the consulate staff, and the participating founders, trustees, volunteers, sponsors, and media partners.
