Arrest warrant issued against Congress MP Abhishek Pratap Shah

KAPILVASTU:- An arrest warrant has been issued against Abhishek Pratap Shah, a Nepali Congress Member of the House of Representatives elected from Kapilvastu Constituency No. 3. On Thursday, the District Court of Kapilvastu granted permission to the police to arrest MP Shah for investigation into assault allegations.

Sitaram Sharma, President of the Krishnanagar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, filed a formal complaint alleging that MP Shah was involved in a brutal attack against him. According to Sharma, a group of 15 to 20 individuals—including MP Shah and Rajat Pratap Shah, the Mayor of Krishnanagar Municipality—entered his residence and beat him indiscriminately.

Ripendra Kumar Singh, Information Officer and DSP at the District Police Office, Kapilvastu, stated that the legal process has moved forward following the registration of a case against MP Shah.

Previously, the victim’s side had accused the police of stalling when they attempted to file a complaint. Now, with court authorization secured, the police have proceeded with further investigation into the incident.
