Rain to spread to central, western Nepal

 KATHMANDU:- A meteorologist Sanjib Adhikari said the rain would spread gradually to the central and western parts of the country.

Scientist at the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Adhikari, informed that although the rain weakened compared to the last two days, it would be active in the central and western parts of Nepal from coming Thursday.

Monsoon wind is active across the country at present. As the low pressure belt of monsoon is near southern plains of Nepal, which is slightly north to the average range, it would cause active rainfall in the western region, the Department added.

It is currently generally to completely cloudy in the mountainous and Tarai regions of the country. In the last 12 hours, Bajhang district recorded highest rainfall, 54.8 mm. Similarly, in the last 24 hours, Sindhupalchowk district of Bagmati Province and some places in Koshi Province witnessed heavy rainfall, the weather service added.
