Possibility of heavy rain in Koshi, Bagmati, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces
KATHMANDU:- The country is currently under the influence of monsoon winds. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division has reported that the monsoon low-pressure trough is situated south of its normal position over the eastern region and near its normal position over the western region of Nepal.
According to the Division, the weather is generally cloudy across the country today. Light to moderate rain is occurring in some places within Koshi, Bagmati, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, as well as in one or two locations in Gandaki and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Generally cloudy conditions will prevail across the country this afternoon. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning, as well as snowfall, in some places within the country’s mountainous regions. Additionally, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in some locations across the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in a few places within the hilly regions of Madhesh and Karnali provinces.
There is a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places across the country’s hilly regions, while gusty winds are also likely in some areas of the Terai in Madhesh Province, as well as in Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Similarly, the weather across the country will be mostly cloudy tonight. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning, as well as snowfall, in a few places within the country’s mountainous regions. Additionally, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in many places across Madhesh Province and the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in some places across the hilly regions of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces and the Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.
The Department has stated that there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in a few places across Madhesh Province, as well as in the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
The Division has requested that necessary precautions be taken and that the public stay updated with the latest information from the Department, as there is a possibility of heavy rain in a few locations across the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi Province, as well as in one or two places within Madhesh Province and the hilly and Terai regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
