Light to moderate rain likely in some places
KATHMANDU:- The influence of monsoon winds is still present in some parts of the country. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Weather Forecasting Division, the influence of monsoon winds is currently prevailing in the entire areas of Koshi, Madhes and Bagmati provinces, some areas of Gandaki province and a few places in the eastern part of Lumbini province, while the influence of westerly winds and local winds is partially present in other areas.
In addition, there is a possibility of monsoon expansion in the remaining areas of Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, Karnali and the entire areas of Sudurpaschim provinces in 2-3 days.
According to the department, there are generally cloudy skies in Koshi and Madhes provinces and the hilly and mountainous regions of the country, and partly cloudy skies in the Terai regions. There are generally cloudy skies across the country. Light to moderate rainfall is occurring at a few places in Koshi, Bagmati and Lumbini provinces and at one or two places in Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.
The department predicts that it will be generally cloudy across the country this afternoon. There is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain and snowfall with thunder and lightning in many places in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, some places in the hilly and mountainous areas of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, and moderate to heavy rain with thunder and lightning in some places in the Terai region of the country.
There is also a possibility of heavy rain at one or two places in the hilly and terai areas of Koshi Province. There is also a possibility of windstorm at some places in the terai areas of Koshi Province and Madhesh Province.
In addition, it will be generally cloudy across the country tonight.
