HoR meeting: Govt’s attention drawn over police search at provincial minister’s residence

KATHMANDU:-  In today’s meeting of the House of Representatives, MP Rajendra Kumar Rai drew the government’s attention to the police search conducted at the residence of the Internal Affairs and Law Minister Indramani Parajuli in Koshi Province.

During the meeting, seeking urgent time from the Speaker, he drew the government’s attention to the fact that the police unnecessarily searched Minister Parajuli’s residence on Thursday night at 10:00 when he had gone to Sankhuwasabha.

“The police searched the minister’s residence at night while he was not at home. Why did the police do this? I want to know this from the government,” he said.

MP Aren Rai drew the government’s attention towards depositors facing difficulty obtaining back their gold after 18 tolas of gold pledged at a bank in New Baneshwor during the Gen Z movement were stolen.

In the meeting, Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal urged the MPs to speak by requesting for ‘urgent time’ only if there is any serious incident that matters.

We support the good works of the government, says RPP leader Shahi

MP Gyan Bahadur Shahi, leader of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) parliamentary party, has said that they will support the good works of the government and oppose the bad ones.

In today’s House of Representatives meeting, he recalled welcoming the government for removing squatters from the riverside.

He stated that a committee is needed to investigate changes in the tax rate. He reminded that even one MP counts and is important in a parliamentary system. (RSS)
