Impact of climate change: Snowfall at Nyalu Lake in Humla, tourists enjoy the snow

HUMLA:-  Snowfall has occurred in Nyalu Lake of Namkha Rural Municipality-6 in the northern part of Humla. Although it has been raining since Saturday night, snowfall has started in the area since Sunday afternoon.

The snowfall has occurred in the upper part of the Selivhang Daha in the Nyalu area, which is at an altitude of 4,500 meters, said Paljor Tamang, ward chairperson of Namkha Rural Municipality-6. According to him, up to one and a half inches of snow has accumulated in the Selivhang area, while up to four inches of snow has fallen in Nyalu Lake.

Despite the snowfall, the movement of domestic tourists and local vehicles going to Limi and Lapcha via Nyalu has not stopped. Ward Chairman Tamang informed that tourists are enjoying the snow and taking pictures in their vehicles. As the season for televising the holy religious site of Mansarovar Kailash from Lapcha has begun, the movement of domestic tourists in this area has started to increase.
