Sharada Municipality stands first in President Running Shield in Salyan

SALYAN:- Sharada Municipality has stood the first in the 16th Salyan district level President Running Shield competition.

Sharada grabbed 28 medals in total- 12 gold, 10 silver and 6 brass medals to become the first. Chhatreshwari Rural Municipality got 19 medals including 8 gold and stood the second while Bangad Kupinde Municipality stood the third with 32 medals including 7 gold.

In the games held at Ratachaur playground at Devasthal in Bangad Kupinde Municipality-1, about 800 student players from 10 local levels of the district participated.

Khadga Acharya, chairman of the Salyan district sports development committee, said that competition was held in sports including athletics, volleyball, kabbadi and martial arts.

Ramesh Kumar Mall, member of the House of Representatives (HoR) from the district, had inaugurated the sports event and viewed that games inculcate discipline, competitive spirit and leadership quality in students.

Players performing best will be selected for provincial and national level games.
