The incident involved Turkish Airlines flight TK726. According to Superintendent of Police Rajkumar Silwal of the TIA Security Office, a tyre of the aircraft caught fire shortly after landing on the runway.

“The fire was brought under control immediately with the help of airport fire engines,” Silwal said, adding that the situation is now normal.

Following the incident, the runway was temporarily closed to allow inspection and ensure safety operations at the airport.
