KATHMANDU:- The Weather Forecasting Division has predicted rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in different parts of the country today, with higher chances in Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces.
According to the Division, the weather will remain generally cloudy in Sudurpashchim Province and across the country’s hilly and mountainous regions, while the Terai areas are expected to witness partly cloudy conditions.
Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely at a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions, while one or two places in the Terai areas of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces may also receive rainfall.
Tonight, cloudy weather is expected to persist in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, whereas the remaining parts of the country will see partly cloudy skies.
The Division has also forecast moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in several areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces. Some high-altitude areas may also witness snowfall.
Meteorologists said the current weather system is being influenced by westerly and local winds, along with a low-pressure area in the lower atmosphere near eastern Nepal and an upper atmospheric low-pressure trough extending across the central and eastern regions of the country.
