Beginning of New Year 2083 B.S. marked today

KATHMANDU:- The Nepali New Year 2083 Bikram Sambat has begun today, with people across the country celebrating Baisakh 1 with enthusiasm and exchanging greetings.

Families, relatives, friends, and colleagues are marking the occasion by sharing greetings and spending time together. The day is also seen as an opportunity to reflect on the past year and set new goals for the future.

Homes have been cleaned and decorated, and special dishes are being prepared and enjoyed as part of the celebration.

Nepalis living abroad are also observing the New Year, maintaining cultural traditions despite being away from home. The day carries both cultural and personal significance, symbolising a fresh start and hopes for progress and prosperity in the year ahead.
