It is not appropriate to go to the election now: Ex King Shah

KATHMANDU:-  Ex King Gyanendra Shah has said that it would not be appropriate to go to the polls without resolving the existing national problems in the country.  Former King Shah expressed this view while releasing a video message today on the occasion of the 74th National Democracy Day. He argues that although periodic elections are a natural process for selecting representatives in a democratic system, the current situation is not normal.

Ex King Shah has said, “Even though choosing representatives is a natural process in a democratic system. The current general sentiment is that it would be appropriate to go to the elections only after resolving national problems. “The right path would have been to make an agreement to ensure that there is no conflict in the country after the elections.”

He also said that it is sad that a situation has arisen in the country where people seek rights but do not think about their duties. “In the current situation, where people only seek rights but do not think about their duties, the country can be given a new momentum by thinking about moving forward together, not by thinking about taking turns and taking turns in the tragic situation,” he said. “The general public sentiment at this time is that the country’s serious national problems should be resolved first and only then move forward with the election process.”

Stating that the country is currently in a state of being forced to please someone or be guided by someone, he said that democracy will not be strong until the people themselves are aware and conscious. He said that the entire country is currently caught in a vortex of unnatural chaos and confusion, and that the very existence of the country is in danger.

He believes that the time has come to introspect on what the various movements and political changes that have taken place in the past have actually given to Nepal and Nepalis.
