Nepathya to rock Siliguri

KATHMANDU:- Nepathya, a folk-rock band, is set to perform in Siliguri, India, for the first time.

Nepathya will perform at ‘Nepathya Live Siliguri,’ organised on February 28 by PVE Network, a Nepali company registered in India.

The concert will take place in the area behind Kavakhali Ground at Teesta Township, Utsodhara.

According to the organisers, the concert has been arranged to establish cultural exchange among Nepali music lovers from eastern India and the Himalayan region in Siliguri, known as the gateway to North Bengal.

The Siliguri concert is the second major international live concert that PVE Network is organising in this region.

PVE Network founder Bikesh Kayastha said that bringing Nepathya to Siliguri reflects the organisation’s confidence.

“Audiences in this region should be able to experience big concerts live. We aim to provide a world-class concert experience and to honour Nepathya’s musical and cultural heritage,” he said.

According to Kayastha, audiences from Nepal and Bhutan are expected to attend. Likewise, audiences from Mumbai, Bengaluru, New Delhi, and the northeastern region of India have also shown interest in the concert.

Established three decades ago, Nepathya is among the most influential bands in South Asia. Their music is based on social life, migration, identity, and collective memory. This Nepathya concert is the second largest ticketed concert in Siliguri’s history, after a similar concert by Arijit Singh.

Nepathya has performed hundreds of concerts in Nepal as well as in the UAE, Australia, Europe, Japan, and the United States. PVE Network has already established itself as a leading entertainment platform in South Asia. It has conducted 300 events in more than 40 cities and has collaborated with more than 50 Nepali artists.
