KATHMANDU:- With just 65 days remaining until the House of Representatives (HoR) election on March 5, 2026, the Election Commission (EC) has announced the maximum campaign spending limits for candidates.

The limits vary depending on the accessibility and infrastructure of different constituencies. Candidates from constituencies 1, 3, 6, 7, and 8 can spend up to Rs 2.5 million, while those from 17 constituencies have a ceiling of Rs 2.7 million. Candidates from 65 constituencies can spend up to Rs 2.9 million, those from 52 constituencies up to Rs 3.1 million, and candidates from 26 constituencies up to Rs 3.3 million.

EC Spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai also directed candidates to open a separate bank account in a financial institution specifically for election-related expenses, appointing a responsible person to oversee the spending.

As per the HoR Member Election Act, candidates are required to submit a detailed report of their election expenditures to the EC within 35 days after the poll concludes.
