Hong Kong International Sixes: Nepal defeats India by 92 runs

KATHMANDU:- Nepal trounced India by 92 in match held under the Hong Kong International Sixes tournament.

In the match that just concluded at Mong Kok, Hong Kong, Nepal, who won the toss today and elected to bat first, scored 137 runs without losing any wicket in the allotted six overs.

For Nepal, openers Sundeep Jora scored 47 runs in 12 balls while Rashid Khan scored 55 runs in 17 balls to be retired hurt after completing a half century. Lokesh Bam then joined Jora to score 31 runs not out in 7 balls.

In reply, India were all out in 3 overs, with just 45 runs on the board. Only Bharat Chipli and Priyank Panchal scored in double figures, with 12 runs each. The likes of Robin Utthapa and captain Dinesh Kartik failed to make any impact with the bat scoring only 5 and 7 runs respectively.

For the bowling side, Rashin Khan took 3 wickets in just one over while Basir Adhmad took two wickets while Rupesh Singh took one wicket.

This is the first win for Nepal after third consecutive defeat in the tournament. Prior to this, Nepal had lost to South Africa by 4 wickets, to Afghanistan by 17 runs and to Sri Lanka by 3 wickets. (RSS)
