Sonal appointed as Madhes Province CM

DHANUSHA:- Leader of Loktantrik Samajbadi Party Nepal, Jitendra Prasad Sonal, has been appointed Chief Minister of Madhes Province on Wednesday.

Chief of Madhes Province, Sumitra Subedi Bhandari, appointed Sonal to the post in accordance with Article 168 (2) of the Constitution.

Province Chief Bhandari, who had set 4:00 pm today afternoon as a deadline for the new leadership, appointed Sonal as the Chief Minister after 57 province assembly members of six political parties without Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) had staked their claim.

Sonal had presented a majority of support before the Province Chief for the formation of a new government with the support of his party, Loktantrik Samajbadi Party, Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal, Janamat Party, CPN (Maoist Centre) and CPN (Unified Socialist).
