193 office bearers under Health Ministry terminated  

KATHMANDU:- One hundred ninety three office bearers under the Ministry of Health and Population have been terminated from office. They were politically appointed by the previous government. 

A press release issued on Tuesday by the Joint-Spokesperson of the Ministry, Dr Samir Kumar Adhikari, mentioned that 193 office-bearers of the ministry have been removed in accordance with Clause 2 (1) of the Ordinance to Make Special Provisions Regarding the Removal of Public Officials, 2083 BS.

A process has begun to send letter to such office-bearers regarding their removal from the post, he added. “As per the ordinance, such number of office-bearers of academy, committees and boards  under the ministry have been relieved of the post. We have been sending letters to such office-bearers,” shared Adhikari.

Such officer-bearers are from various bodies including National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), Patan Academy of Health Sciences, BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Karnali Academy of Health Sciences, Health Insurance Board, Nepal Health Research Council, Nepal Medical Council and Nepal Health Professional Council.

He said that the office bearers have been relieved of the post from the date of the issuance of the Ordinance. President Ramchandra Paudel on May 2 had issued the ‘Ordinance to Make Special Provisions Regarding the Removal of Public Officials, 2083’. (RSS)
