14 people stranded in Bagmati river rescued

RAUTAHAT:- A team of the Armed Police Force (APF) Nepal rescued 14 people who were stranded in the Bagmati River in Durga Bhagwati Rural Municipality-3 of Rautahat district.

The rescue operation was carried out on Sunday afternoon after the group of people comprising 11 women and three minor girls got trapped on elevated ground in the middle of the Bagmati River at Matsari Ghat while returning from collecting black gram.

Prem Sagar Bista, APF’s Deputy Superintendent of Police at APF Base Camp at Gaur, informed that the rescue team, led by Senior Sub Inspector Yagya Bahadur Yonjan and comprising 17 personnel, used a rubber boat to safely evacuate all 11 women and three girls.

The APF said that the rescued persons were safely handed back to their families.
