11 more bodies recovered from Upper Trishuli-1 tunnel

RASUWA:- Eleven more bodies have been recovered from the tunnel of the Upper Trishuli-1 Hydropower Project in Rasuwa, which was damaged by the recent Bhotekoshi flood.

The bodies were recovered by a joint rescue team of the project and security agencies today after being found trapped in the mesh and buried in mud inside the Audit-3 tunnel.

The bodies were brought out of the tunnel by around 12:30 this afternoon.

Security personnel had recovered 18 bodies from the same site yesterday.

The Nepali Army said the search and rescue operation for other people still unaccounted for is continuing.

The exact number of workers who were inside the tunnel when the flood struck is yet to be established.

The flood had damaged structures under construction at the project site, leaving several workers trapped or missing inside the tunnel.
