Monsoon loses strength; moderate rain likely today

KATHMANDU:- Nepal’s monsoon has remained in a weak state, with its low-pressure line located to the south of its average position.

The Meteorological Forecasting Division predicted that the weather will generally be cloudy in the hilly regions of the country, including Sudurpashchim province, while the remaining territories will see partial cloud cover this afternoon.

Moderate showers are likely to occur in a few places of the hilly areas of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as in a couple of areas in the remaining Terai regions. Tonight, there will generally be cloudy weather in the hilly areas of the Koshi and Sudurpashchim provinces, with partial cloud in the rest of the areas.

The division has indicated the possibility of moderate rainfall in a few places of the hilly areas of Koshi and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as in one or two places in the remaining Terai regions.
