Voting to elect new Nepali Congress leadership begins at 10 am today
KATHMANDU:- Voting to elect the working committee under the Nepali Congress’s 15th General Convention is scheduled to begin today, Thursday, at 10:00 AM.
A total of 7,255 delegates participating in the General Convention will cast their votes to elect the party’s next leadership.
Prem Bahadur Khadka, Coordinator of the Central Election Committee and Senior Advocate, informed that although voting was previously scheduled to begin at 7:00 AM on Thursday, the process is being delayed by three hours due to rain and certain technical reasons.
According to him, seven polling stations have been designated across three locations in Kathmandu for the voting process. Separate polling stations have been arranged based on province and representation to ensure convenience for the delegates.
The Election Committee has designated the National City Hall (Rastriya Sabhagriha), Khulamanch, and the Academy Hall (Pragya Bhawan) as polling centers. Arrangements have been made for representatives from Bagmati Province to cast their votes at the National City Hall.
Similarly, representatives from Koshi, Madhesh, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces will cast their votes at Khulamanch. The Election Committee stated that arrangements have also been made for representatives from sister organizations, affiliate organizations, and public relations committees to vote at Khulamanch.
A polling station has been designated at Pragya Bhawan for representatives from Gandaki and Lumbini provinces. Representatives from the respective provinces and groups must visit the designated polling station to cast their votes.
Arrangements have been made to allow voting only after verifying the representatives’ identities and the voter list.
