Landslide in Beni Bazaar, damages 15 houses at night
MYAGDI:- Fifteen houses were damaged when a landslide struck the New Road area of Beni Bazaar last night. Surat KC, the Mayor of Beni Municipality, reported that the landslide, which occurred around 10 PM, caused damage to houses and other structures in the vicinity of New Road. It is reported that the landslide has also increased the level of risk in the affected area.
According to Mayor KC, on-site data collection regarding the condition of landslide-damaged houses and affected families is currently underway. He stated that preparations are being made to provide necessary assistance to the affected families once the precise details of the damage have been gathered.
Local residents were terrified when the landslide occurred during the night. Some families at risk moved to safer locations that very night. Residents have been urged to exercise caution in areas where further landslides could potentially occur.
Necessary management and rescue operations are being carried out at the site by local authorities and relevant agencies. The municipality has stated that details regarding further damage are being collected.
