Nepal Telecom launches 4G Service in Sinja Valley
KATHMANDU:- The Nepal Telecom has started 4G service in Sinja of Jumla district.
The 4G service began today with the installing of a new tower at Guthijyula bazaar area in Kankasundari Rural Municipality.
Sinja is known as the place of origin of the Nepali (Khas) language, official language of the country.
The tower covers the area of 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 wards of the Kankasundari RM and solar battery is used for operating the tower, according to Paras Pujara, chief of Nepal Telecom Jumla office.
The government has prioritized expansion of telecom services in remote and tourist areas. In line with that, 4G service is scheduled to be operated in Badimalika temple area of Bajura district within this week.
Nepal Telecom has said that a study is underway to expand 4G service in the base camp of Mt. Everest.
4G service have already been expanded to different places of high Himalayan area, such as the Lhan area of Tripura Sundari Municipality-6 and Dunai of Thulibheri Municipality-1 of Dolpa, located above 3900 meters from the sea level.
Similarly, Olanchungola of Taplejung, which is at an altitude of 3400 meters, also has the 4G service.
Process to install 1,600 new mobile towers and construct the site has been initiated to expand access and quality of telecom services while Nepal telecom is preparing for an investment of six billion rupees to expand service and quality in rural areas.
