Landslide in Bajura blocks Karnali Corridor

BAJURA:- The Karnali Corridor in Bajura has been obstructed. The road is blocked following a landslide that fell from above onto the Bhukakhola section of the road in Jagannath Rural Municipality-5, located in the northeastern part of the district.

A passenger bus sustained damage due to the landslide. The District Police Office, Bajura, reported that the bus (Bhe 1 Kha 2831), which was traveling from Surkhet to Humla, was damaged in the incident.

Naresh Shahi, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Bajura, stated that the front of the bus was completely destroyed after being struck by a rock that fell along with a landslide while the vehicle was in motion.

He said, “Although the bus sustained damage, all seven people on board—including the driver—are safe. A police team from the Juddi Police Post (under the jurisdiction of the Bajura District Police Office) has reached the site, and work to clear the landslide and reopen the road is underway.”
