Possibility of heavy rain in hilly regions across the country
KATHMANDU:- The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that the country is currently under the influence of monsoon winds. The monsoon low-pressure trough is positioned slightly north of its normal location, lying close to Nepal’s Terai region.
As a result, generally cloudy conditions prevail across the country. Moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is currently occurring in some areas of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, a few places in Koshi, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and one or two locations in Lumbini Province.
Generally cloudy conditions will prevail across the country this afternoon. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in some places within the country’s Himalayan region. Moderate rain accompanied by lightning is likely in many places across the hilly regions, while similar conditions—moderate rain with lightning—are expected in some places within the Terai region.
There is a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places across the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi and Bagmati provinces, the hilly and Terai regions of Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, and the hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Generally cloudy conditions will prevail across the country tonight. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in some places within the country’s mountainous regions. Moderate rain accompanied by lightning is likely in many areas of the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as in Madhesh Province. Similarly, light to moderate rain with lightning is possible in a few places across the hilly regions of Karnali Province and the hilly and Terai regions of Sudurpaschim Province.
The Department has stated that there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in one or two places across the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as the hilly and Terai regions of Lumbini Province.
