Nepal Oil Corporation increases petroleum product prices
KATHMANDU:- Nepal Oil Corporation has increased the prices of petroleum products. The Corporation announced that the price hikes for petrol, diesel, kerosene, and aviation fuel will come into effect on Monday.
The Corporation has raised the price of petrol by Rs 3 per liter, and that of diesel and kerosene by Rs 5 per liter. Similarly, the price of aviation fuel has been increased by Rs 20 per liter for domestic flights and by US$ 131 per kiloliter for international flights.
According to the new purchase prices sent by Indian Oil Corporation on July 31, 2026, the cost has increased by Rs 20.19 per liter for petrol, Rs 39.67 for diesel, and Rs 19.06 for aviation fuel.
According to the new price list, the price of petrol and diesel has reached Rs 200 per liter in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal. It has been set at Rs 199 in Surkhet and Dang. Similarly, the price has reached Rs 197.50 in Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalwari, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj. The Corporation has stated that the price of cooking LP gas remains unchanged.
Previously, the price of petrol was Rs 197 per liter, while diesel and kerosene were priced at Rs 195 per liter. A statement issued today notes that even after adjusting the retail prices of petroleum products, the Corporation will continue to incur a loss of Rs 1.49 billion every fortnight.
