KATHMANDU:- The Karnali Cricket Cup 2083 begins today at Kalunchok Ground in Birendranagar, Surkhet, bringing together teams from eight districts across Karnali Province.
The five-day tournament, organized by the Karnali Province Cricket Association, will continue until July 2. Speaking at a press conference in Birendranagar on Saturday, Association Secretary Shridhar KC said the event aims to promote cricket in the province, provide competitive opportunities for players, identify emerging talent, and support the sport’s long-term development.
Teams representing Mugu, Kalikot, Jumla, Dailekh, Surkhet, Salyan, Jajarkot, and Rukum West are participating in the competition.
The winning team will receive a cash prize of Rs 101,000, while the runners-up will be awarded Rs 51,000.
The Karnali Province Sports Development Council has provided Rs 2 million in financial support for the tournament.
