Forest office vehicle set on fire in Bardibas, BP Highway blocked

MAHOTTARI:- A vehicle of the District Forest Office has been set on fire on the BP Highway in Kalapani, Bardibas Municipality-3, Mahottari. The vehicle (Ba 2 Jha 2749) carrying an employee of the District Forest Office was set on fire, according to the Area Police Office, Bardibas.

The vehicle carrying an employee of the District Forest Office, Mahottari, who had gone to post a notice to evacuate the settlement in the Kalapani area on Monday, was set on fire by locals during a protest last night.

The locals had taken control of the forest office employees who had reached the forest area to remove the settlement and were blocking the BP Highway since Monday evening. The Area Police Office, Bardibas, has stated that the vehicles were set on fire after the demonstration turned violent.

The police have said that the forest office employees have been rescued. Local Roshan Karki informed that the BP Highway is still blocked due to the protest of the locals.
