Devotees urged to avoid ornaments in time of paying homage to Pashupatinath temple

KATHMANDU:- The Nepal Police issued a 13-point appeal to the devotees visiting the Pashupatinath temple for their security on the occasion of Mahashivaratri festival.

Spokesperson at the District Police Range Kathmandu, Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Bhattarai said that the devotees have been urged not to visit the Pashupathinath temple by wearing ornaments as well as carrying important and expensive goods as the cases of theft and robbery could take place.

The Kathmandu Police has asked the devotees not to use prohibited goods such as plastic bags, cups and plates at Pashupatinath.

Similarly, devotees have been requested to make necessary support and coordination to keep temple premises clean and help physically-challenged persons, senior citizens to help them offer worship to Pashupatinath, to remain alert from pickpockets, to contact health camp if pilgrims develop health issues.

Arrangements for any special type of ticket or pass to visit Pashupatinath has not been made this year, so devotees have been requested to stay in line to visit the temple in a systematic manner, he added.(RSS)
