Nepali Congress takes disciplinary action against general secretary duo Sharma and Thapa

KATHMANDU:- A meeting of the central working committee of the Nepali Congress (NC) has taken disciplinary action against the party’s general secretary duo Bishwa Prakash Sharma and Gagan Kumar Thapa.

According to NC leader Min Bishwakarma, the NC’s CWC meeting held today took disciplinary action also against joint general secretary Farmullah Mansur in addition to the general secretaries.The establishment side of the NC took disciplinary action against the general secretaries arguing that they violated party discipline by calling the second special general convention.

The special general convention of the NC, called by general secretaries after over 50 per cent of the party’s convention delegates submitted signature demanding for the same, is going on since January 11.

The special convention has initiated process to elect Gagan Thapa as the NC president while Bishwa Prakash Sharma and Pradip Paudel are to be elected as the general secretary duo. There is also process to elect a new central working committee unanimously through the special convention.
