Mustang administration urges trekkers not to trek in high mountains citing chances of heavy snowfall

KATHMANDU:- The District Administration Office, Mustang, has urged the trekkers not to go for trekking in the trails along the high mountain areas in the district citing a weather forecast of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.     

The Department has stated that the weather in the high mountains is likely to remain unfavorable until Wednesday.

The Department has predicted that light to heavy snowfall is expected to occur in the Yakkharka area at an altitude of 5,800 metres in Mustang and Dolpa districts, Thorang-la pass and Saribung pass in Manang and Mustang districts and Dhampus peak along the Dhaulagiri trekking route in Mustang and Myagdi districts.

Issuing a notice today, Chief District Officer of Mustang Bishnu Prasad Bhusal has urged all the trekkers not to go for trekking along these routes.

Likewise, the administration has urged the tourists and pilgrims in the district to travel by taking information on weather forecasting and applying top precautions.(RSS)
